This Pope started a Cat-quisition
Do you have a pet cat? If so, you’ll probably agree that these felines are feisty, adorable, and curious animals that never fail to steal our hearts with their funny antics. However, not everyone thinks that way.

In the 13th Century, Pope Gregory IV declared war on black cats because he thought that they bore Satan’s spirit. His plan backfired, though, as it resulted in an increased rat population and the infamous Black Death. An eye for an eye, huh?
