Harassment on Capitol Hill
The #MeToo movement brought to light hundreds of sexual assault cases that would’ve otherwise remained hidden; it encouraged women from different industries to come forward with their heartbreaking stories. Surprisingly, some Capitol Hill House members weren’t free of these accusations.
It was revealed that victims of sexual harassment in the Capitol were made to sign an agreement that prevented them from telling their truth. Following this discovery, the U.S. government modified some policies, making all House members complete a mandatory anti-harassment training program.
