Russia invades America in “Red Dawn”
The Cold War, which occurred between 1947 and 1991, was a period when America and the Soviet Union fought proxy wars in other nations while never attacking each other directly. Of course, the risks carried by that decision would’ve been unthinkable. Well, in Red Dawn, the Cold War heats up.
What would’ve happened if the USSR had invaded the States with the help of Cuba? According to writer and director John Milius, a guerilla group would’ve formed in the U.S. (in his premise, they’re called The Wolverines). Materializing a reality that never existed, the 1984 film spreads an anti-war message.
