Martin Luther King JR.’s “I Have a Dream” Speech
The 1960s were a tumultuous time for the U.S. The Cold War was in full swing, and the Civil Rights Movement was fighting to end the segregation of African Americans. One of their most important figures was Martin Luther King Jr.
The “I Have A Dream” speech he gave in August of 1963 is a masterclass in oratory. It features repetition, poetic language, and, most importantly, an undying, universal message of love. Needless to say, his words touched people all across the country and still do today.
