From Old Jails To Renaissance Palazzos, These Five Historical Buildings Were Turned Into Luxurious Hotels

We can’t say the people who named the next hotel weren’t sarcastic geniuses. If you’re a Prison Break, Escape From Alcatraz kind of person, you should check out The Liberty Hotel (formerly known as Charles Street Jail) in Boston, Massachusetts.

The four-star hotel has an inviting, prison-themed cocktail bar and offers guests the possibility to dine in former jail cells at the restaurant Clink. You could also take pictures in the original holding cells. The Liberty has retained much of the 1851 building’s historic structure, including the octagonal rotunda.
