From Old Jails To Renaissance Palazzos, These Five Historical Buildings Were Turned Into Luxurious Hotels

Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles

If you stay at the Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles, you’ll find a 1,600-seat theater that was restored to look like its 1927 glory days. You’ll also be impressed by Gothic-style chandeliers and mural tributes to Hollywood’s Golden Age of Glamour.

Before welcoming guests, this hotel was originally home to Charlie Chaplin and Mary Pickford’s United Artists motion picture studio. Its three-story theater used to be a classic movie palace. Though you can still go to the United Artists theater for a movie, the venue is mostly used for performances now.
