World War II brought about awful indescribable crimes. The nightmarish experience of persecuted minorities under totalitarian regimes around the globe made society realize that something had to be done to protect ordinary people from fascist leaders.

That’s when the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was born. This document laid out plans for a “world of genuine peace and justice” and encouraged many organizations to stand up for those who don’t have a voice.
