The Sanxingdui
Imagine for a second that you’re an ordinary farmer. However, one day, as you dig holes in the ground and plant your crops, you come across mysterious artifacts with complex jade cravings that seem to belong to an ancient civilization. What would you do?
That’s exactly what happened to a Chinese farmer in 1929. The man didn’t know back then, but he had discovered archaeological evidence of the Sanxingdui, an extinct culture notorious for its artistic abilities that thrived in the Sichuan Province. What may have caused their demise is still unknown.
